November 2004
Oh yeah, forgot to post this here -- yesterday I was interviewed on Gothamist.com by WYSIWYG alum and fabu lady Rachel Kramer Bussel, largely about how WYSIWYG came about and how we run the show and all that kinda stuff. Do check it out!
As Andy's brief rundown mentions, last night was a particularly boozy WYSIWYG (not surprising, considering the subject matter was focused on families and family gatherings - I know I certainly need liberal dosages of liquid courage when dealing with my relations!).
Addendum: Pics here!
Anyway, here are a few linkies for now; as always, I'll keep adding more as they crop up!
* Matt promises to post his story soon -- Matt's story is up!
* Amy's thoughts on both the show and her visit to NYC in general
* Nichelle's two-word summaries of last night's stories
* Jodi won a prize!

Hey gang! Don't forget we've got another WYSIWYG Talent Show Tuesday night, November 16 at 7:30pm -- all the info's on the front page of the site. And we'll be partying after the show at Openair on St. Mark's between 1st and A. Come on down!
Next week, Minneapolis cutie Amy Salloway will not only earn the distinction of being the performer who's traveled the longest distance to perform at the WYSIWYG Talent Show -- she'll also be performing her much-lauded one-woman show Does This Monologue Make Me Look Fat? as part of Six Figures Theatre Company's Artists of Tomorrow festival. Here's the skinny (so to speak):
Initially created for the 2003 Minneapolis Fringe, and a hit at festivals from Halifax to Vancouver, Does This Monologue Make Me Look Fat? was voted “Best solo performance” by Lavender Magazine. “A MUST SEE,” writes the St. Paul Pioneer Press, ”poignant, revelatory and funny”. “Utterly brilliant...superbly crafted...a sustained tour-de-force of wit”, says the Halifax Herald. And from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune: “An A for chutzpah!”
Two shows only!
