Pics and videos of most of the performances at last week's WYSIWYG Talent Show -- "Spawn. Of. Worst. Sex. Ever." -- are now up here!
Also, it's never too late to post links to reviews and stories! Jeff of The Tin Man, one of the folks who will be reading at next month's show ("The City That Never Shuts Up: New York Tales"), has his review of the show up here.
And Cheryl B.'s story from the show is up here.
We may not have the pics of the performers up yet from Tuesday's show, but I've just uploaded a couple I took of our wonderful audience here. I have one thing to say to you people:
WYSIWYG turned a year old last night, and I think it's safe to say it was a success!
Huuuge thanks to my co-conspirators Andy and Dan for everything you do, to P.S. 122 for being such a great venue, to everyone who performed last night, and to everyone who managed to squeeze in to our sold-out show!
A few of last night's performers have their afterthoughts up:
* Matt
* Cheryl
And from people who attended:
* Miss RKB's rundown is here, and her Village Voice column about Worst. Sex. Ever. is here!
* lexBlog
* Nichelle
* Jon Collins
* Alice Ayers
If any of last night's performers end up posting their stories on their blogs, I'll be sure to link 'em here as I find them, so check back.
Update:
Blaise's rundown, replete with choice excerpts from her piece, is here! Polish that knob!
Oh, my story's up here and my thoughts on the evening are here.
And Miss RKB's Village Voice column inspired by and kind of about the show is here!
Matt's story is now online here!
Updateder:
Tim of Stories from the Gymrat went too, and dug it. So did Hugo. Thanks for the kind words, boys!
February 14, 2005: Sellout!
Tomorrow's "Spawn. Of. Worst. Sex. Ever." is, as we suspected, getting really close to selling out and the last of the tickets will probably go today. So if you're planning on coming and haven't bought tickets yet, click here to do so. If Ticketweb says it's out of tickets, please call the P.S. 122 box office at 212-477-5288 -- that's where we'll probably sell the last few. And get there early, 'cause it looks like it's going to be a packed house. Don't say we didn't warn you!
Lookie! We're #6 on the Post's "Hot List"! Eeeek!
We also got listed in the print edition of The Onion. I'm both terrified and ecstatic. Did I mention you might want to get your tickets ahead of time? Have I finished writing my story yet? Um, yeah, gotta go.
Just found out that next week's "Spawn. Of. Worst. Sex. Ever." got listed in two different sections of Time Out New York (Around Town and Comedy)! Eeee! No way of telling where else we'll get covered, but we do know that we'll also be in next week's Flavorpill and Miss RKB's column in the Village Voice. It looks more and more like this show will sell out, so if you haven't gotten your tickets yet and want to be sure you can get in, do it now! Click here to purchase advance tickets, or call the P.S. 122 box office at 212-477-5288. And try to be there a little early on Tuesday to make sure you get a seat.
Guess I better get around to writing my story now, huh?
Next week, the WYSIWYG Talent Show celebrates its one year anniversary with

That's right, kids -- WYSIWYG is a year old, and we've decided to make our first show an annual event! In February of 2004 Performance Space 122 presented “Worst. Sex. Ever.” -- an anti-Valentine’s Day celebration. It was a messy, spectacular event, the first all-blogger reading/performance event ever. Featuring such infamous bloggers as Choire Sicha (Gawker.com, The New York Times, The New York Observer) and Paul Ford (Ftrain.com, NPR, Harper’s), the event was a smashing sold-out success. In the wake of “Worst. Sex. Ever.” we decided to make it a monthly event called the WYSIWYG Talent Show.
Over the course of the past year WYSIWYG’s themed monthly events have featured over 70 bloggers doing readings, comedy, performance art, music and even a “blogs and politics” panel discussion as part of the Imagine04 Festival during the Republican National Convention in August.
This should be lots of fun -- hope you can join us!
