WYSIWYGgers are HOT
Alas, my poor neglected little WYSIBLOG has fallen victim to the summer heat icky blahs. But at long last, here's a brave attempt at filling you in on some upcoming events with some of our past talent, presented with no attempt at chronological order. Hey, YOU wanna try to keep track of so many people? Go for it. Buttloads of cool things to do and people to see and people to do (both in and outside of NYC) after the jump!
The Hazzards have just finished their new video for "Shut Up and Make Out" and will be having a premiere party on Monday, July 18th at 8pm at Telephone Bar, 149 Second Avenue between 9th & 10th Streets.
Here's a fun one -- Ned Vizzini is going to be a celebrity judge at the Harry Potter Celebration on July 15 from 9pm to 11pm at Barnes & Noble, 267 7th Avenue (at 6th St.) in Park Slope. He's going to be judging the "Wizards and Witches Costume Contest" (for, ahem, "Muggles" 12 and under). The winner of the contest gets the racing broom; second place gets a 14" mahogany magic wand with a velvet case and certificate, and third place wins the Sorting Hat.
Even niftier, Ned is starting a new nonprofit called the New York City Student Writing Showcase. On July 29, he will be presenting a teen writing workshop on behalf of NYCSWS at the same Barnes & Noble from 5pm to 8pm. This is free to anyone who wants to improve their writing skills or learn how to be a professional author.
