September 28, 2005: Make a mess for Daddy!

That line, once overheard by a horrified Frank Beekman, could well rival Dan's "Bring on the assfucking!" from the June '04 show for the title of funniest gay line ever at a WYSIWYG show.

A few of last night's performers has posted his or her piece online:

* Carolyn's rundown and story are here.

* Jon's story is right here.

* Frank's story and a rundown of the evening are both here.

* My story is here.

Maybe some of the other folks will do so soon too.

As always, I'll be posting reviews/rundowns/shoutouts here today as they crop up online. If you post something about the show, feel free to let me know, 'cause it may take me a while to track down all of them through our stat tracker. Here's what people are saying so far:

* Dashiell

* Byrne

* Fiend

* Jeff

* Michael

* Jase

* Helen

* Charles

* Nichelle

* Kiss My Mike.

Perhaps we'll see some more crop up as the day goes on, as I spotted many a blogger in the audience -- some folks from the Hotel Chelsea blog, Davis, GirlyNYC, Mark, Joe, Byrne, Mike, Jeff 'n' Matt, Aaron, Perez, and Landry. Am I missing anyone?

Addendum: Just found a wildly apropos link over at Screenhead... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that as bad as all the roommates discussed last night were, all of them put together couldn't be a fraction as bad as this chick.

Oh and the part where the guy warns you to be really sure you want to look before you keep scrolling down? He's totally not kidding.

September 20, 2005: Limited tickets for this month's show!

I have good news and bad news about the show next week.

First, the bad news:
Because of the set for the show that's going on in our space, P.S. 122 is only going to have a limited amount of tickets available for next week's WYG. There's not room for the usual amount of audience seating, so there will only be 60 tickets available. We usually have around 100 available, so we can be pretty sure this show will sell out. So if you want to be sure you can get in, buy advance tickets NOW.

You can get them online here, and if those are sold out, you should still try the P.S. 122 box office at 212-477-5288, because they always keep some to sell that don't go out via the web sales page.

The good news is that the set for Pastoralia, which we'll be standing on as we perform, is a giant cave, which should make for a pretty fucking amusing backdrop for this particular topic!

September 17, 2005: Welcome Blade readers!

Check it out! We got a lovely mention in the New York Blade. Which reminded us that we've been totally remiss in not mentioning WYG alum and all-around homolicious hottie Bradford's new venture, Queerty. Congrats, punkin!

All you Blade folks checking out the site should consider our third season opener (OMG I can't believe that) on September 27. Come on down!

September 15, 2005: WYSIWYG Talent Interviewing WYSIWYG Talent: The Complete Anthology (unless Dashiell decides to interview himself this week)

Two of the performers from our September show, Frank Beekman and Dashiell, got together via the internets for a blog interview.
It is only six questions long, but Mr. Beekman is a very thorough responder, as you will see.

Update: Dashiell is proving himself more ambitious than previously thought and has also interviewed Jon Collins from our upcoming show.

Update II: Check out Dashiell's newest blog interview, "Six Questions For...David Hauslaib"!

Update III: Check Dashiell's newest interview with Carolyn Castiglia and her unborn child.

Update IV: You will enjoy Rachel Sklar's WYSIWYG performance even more having her replies to yet another six silly questions. This woman gets paid to blog, and yes, that makes her better than us.

Final Update: WYSIWYG Ringmistress Chris "It ain't gonna lick itself" Hampton answers thee these questions three times two.

September 15, 2005: Sunday Ranting, No Cost To You

WYSIWYG alumnus Mike Daisey will be performing in the finale to the Public Theatre's NEW WORKS NOW festival in an evening entitled RANTS, where he'll be, as you might expect, ranting--though for a change he'll be be expressing his outrage in rather distinguished company.

So here's the deal:

RANTS--written and performed by Eric Bogosian, Lea DeLaria, Florencia Lozano, Billy Porter, Jennifer Miller, Pamela Sneed and Mike Daisey.

An explosive evening of solo performances. Combining improvisation and
scripted material, RANTS speaks to a desire for politically-engaged
theater told from a personal point of view.

Susie Felber and Lianne Stokes host and produce an evening featuring
professional comedians. The catch? All comics have (or have had before
comedy superstardom) a secret double life -- "day jobs" in advertising
(hence, the title, "selling it").

Did you know many of the comics you see on TV, in print and on the comedy
circuit are also Art Directors, Creative Directors & Copy Jockeys whose
work is all around you? From writing for the Aflac duck, to writing coffee
cup sleeves, billboards, buses, and taxi cabs -- these comedians work as
"creatives" in-house or in-agency or in their underpants, drunk from home.
