Oh, poor, neglected little WYSIblog! How could I have forsaken you?

Apologies all around for how long it's been since we've posted. Our intern was handling the bulk of the blogging responsibilities but has gone on to greener pastures and warmer climes, thus avoiding another NYC winter. Can't say that I blame him. Thank you for everything you did for us during your WYSIWYG tenure, Chris!

Stay tuned, 'cause tomorrow I'll be posting the lineup for next month's THIRD ANNUAL "Worst. Sex. Ever." show, which promises to be the best worst ever. We're not only going to have some of the best bloggers sharing their stories, but there's also going to be a hot DJ and a big-ass party, so mark your calendars for Valentine's Day!

Tuesday night we had the WYSIWYG Film Festival, which was a bit of a departure for us -- instead of readings, we had a variety of film bits, ranging from mini-documentaries to videoblogging to sketch comedy to cartoons to music videos, along with a couple of live performances. Although putting it together was a Herculean effort in terms of tech and logistics, it went off really well, and we had some great stuff. Despite the sparse crowd (if you love your WYSIWYG, support your WYSIWYG!), we had a great time. Here's who performed, along with linkage to some of the films which are online:

* Brian Levin and Bob Castrone of The Post Show, who shared a tender story of music and pedophilia. Brian and Bob were also interviewed by Gothamist recently and The Post Show Season 1: Life’s a Beach! DVD is for sale on their site.

* Chelsea Peretti and the other lovely ladies of Variety SHAC made me an honorary member for all of four minutes (and what a wonderful, life-altering four minutes it was) and showed us their short Thirty Four Fourteen. Catch the hotness live at their monthly show the first Tuesday of each month, 8pm at Galapagos -- the next one is February 7, with Val Kappa, Cory Arcangel, and At Least It's Pink (Bridget Everett and Kenny Melman).

* The Hazzards, cute as ever, graced us with a song and their smoochily glittery Shut Up and Make Out video. They'll be appearing with fellow 'WYG alum Liam McEneany at 8pm on January 30th at Tell Your Friends at Lolita (Broom & Allen Streets), and with yet another 'WYG alum, the lovely Nichelle, at Chicks & Giggles, February 4th at 10pm at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction.

* Rejection Show wunderkind Jon Friedman brought the trailer to his spellbinding documentary about the
World Beard and Moustache Championships (U-S-A! U-S-A!) and a short about two dudes and a bong. His new sketch comedy show "Doody Calls" will be every Friday in February at The PIT, and the next Rejection Show is February 7, 8:30pm at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction.

* Odd Todd, who in real life is clean-shaven, charming, and NOT constantly clad in a blue bathrobe, shared his brush with fame, Hollywood Bound. Mep!

* Dirty girl Jessica Delfino showed us her squirmily delightful video to "I'm Saving This Rape for Somebody Who Loves Me" and gave an enthusiastic live performance of "My Pussy Is Magic." Hey, mine too!

* The official Prom Queen and King of videoblogging Ryanne Hodson (ryanedit.blogspot.com, freevlog.org, and node101.org) and Jay Dedman (momentshowing.net, node101.org, and getfireant.com) shared four of their videos. I LOVE Ryanne's mom, and Jay may be the only man brave enough to explore the question, "What's in that litterbox?" Here are the linkies:
“Working Stiffs, the Living Dead”
“Thanksgiving”
“Do Not Watch This Video”
“Cat Power”

* Daniel Liss (mookievlog.blogspot.com and pouringdown.blogspot.com) brought his unbelievably adorable muse Mookie (thank goodness she's too little to ask questions about some of the other performances that night) and said some stuff about what he does, but I didn't really catch it cause I was going all googoo at what may be the most compelling infant chipmunk cheeks in human history. Check out his videos “Inwood Hill” and “Autumn Rhythm (#30).”

* Lynn Lane wasn't able to attend, but he sent along a little hip hop flavor with “’Annual Melrose Projects Family Day’ in the South Bronx.”
