Starf*cked
Our first night at Bowery Poetry Club was hella fun, although we're going to have to learn how to pace ourselves a bit with the drinkies. BPC's bartender Uncle Shappy took good care of us and put up with our silliness with marvelous aplomb, and the rest of the BPC staff were all *so* friendly and cool. We ruv it!
The first of two fabulous prizes for the evening was an "American Idol" Season One cd, won by Mike (who also won one of the prizes last month, so we must investigate to figure out how he's rigging the drawings). And one of our performers, the darling Miss Lindsay, actually won the other: a copy of Nicole Ritchie's "novel," The Truth about Diamonds: A Novel (which also has the word "novel" on the cover about 18 times -- maybe someone thought that if they said it enough times it become a REAL novel!). We made her promise to do a full book report for future publication on the WYSIblog, and we're gonna hold her to it!
Not all of the performers have posted about the night's festivities (we'd love to be able to share Derek's dirt about Bea Arthur and Elizabeth Shue, Lindsay's experience stalking-but-not-really-stalking Corey Feldman, or Diana's stories about fan mails written entirely in l33t and the guy who sent her photos of himself in a homemade robot costume with the "man parts" strategically cut out) but some of them have:
* Doug's story is here
* Rachael's rundown is here
* Matthew's thoughts on the night are here
* Amnesia's rundown of the evening is here

Also, Amnesia's friend B-Rad posted about the night here and put up a gallery of photos at Junk Magazine! I also have a few photos up on my Flickr page, right here.
And now there's a review up at Stagebuzz.
As always, more links as I find 'em. Perhaps some of you other bloggers spotted in the audience (like Byrne, Jase, Alexis, Ken, and Ned) will write a bit more? Either way, we had a blast, and we hope to see you next month!
